March 2009: Ed Gowett joined the firm as "of counsel." Mr. Gowett graduated from Bryant University with a B.S. degree in accounting. He is an M.B.A. graduate of California State University and received his J.D. from Southwestern University. Mr. Gowett, also licensed as a CPA since 1985, is licensed to practice in US Tax Court.

October 2008: Jim Richardson was again named a "Super Lawyer" by Texas Monthly Magazine and Law & Politics, Texas Super Lawyers Magazine. October 2007: Jim Richardson was named a "Super Lawyer" in the October 2007 issues of Texas Monthly Magazine and Law & Politics, Texas Super Lawyers Magazine. He continues to be listed among the top trial lawyers in Central and West Texas in the practice area of general civil litigation. Only five percent of Texas lawyers are so honored, as voted by their peers.

April 2007: Bankston & Richardson, L.L.P. hosted the 2007 regional examinations for Civil Trial Advocacy Certification of the National Board of Trial Advocacy. The National Board of Trial Advocacy is a non-profit organization located in Boston, Massachusetts. Founded in 1977, the National Board of Trial Advocacy is dedicated to bettering the quality of trial advocacy in the United States and securing the availability of highly qualified trial lawyers. The American Bar Association has approved the National Board of Trial Advocacy to certify lawyers in designated specialty areas, including Civil Trial Advocacy.

October 2006: Jim Richardson was named a "Super Lawyer" and profiled in the October 2006 issues of Texas Monthly and Law & Politics, Texas Super Lawyers Magazine.

June 2006: Bankston & Richardson, L.L.P. was selected by the National Board of Trial Advocacy in Boston, Massachusetts to host the 2006 regional examinations for attorney board certification.

June 2005: Milton L. Bankston received the "Outstanding 50-Year Lawyer Award," presented by the Texas Bar Foundation during the annual convention of the State Bar of Texas. Often described as the most prestigious statewide honor awarded to Texas attorneys, the Outstanding 50-Year Lawyer Award was established in 1974 as the first award ever conferred by the Texas Bar Foundation. The award recognizes attorneys whose active practice of law has spanned fifty years or more with manifest adherence to the highest principles and traditions of the legal professional and service to the public and the community.
